House Policies

  • No smoking anywhere on the property
  • No parties or events without prior approval
  • Quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM
  • No pets allowed (service animals welcome)
  • Maximum 4 guests at any time
  • Please do not consume contents of bar cabinet or pantry
  • Please do not water or trim any house plants

Parking

  • Dedicated parking for up to 3 vehicles under carport (gated property)
  • Free street parking available
  • Please do not block driveways or mailboxes when parking on street

Checkout Instructions

  • Check out by 10:00 AM on departure day
  • Do not strip beds and place used towels in a pile on bathroom floor
  • Load and start dishwasher with dirty dishes. Hand wash pots/pans, wooden utensils, and all crystal
  • Remove all food items from refrigerator
  • Turn off all lights and ceiling fans
  • Lock all windows and doors
  • Message host after checkout is complete

Trash & Recycling

  • Tan Cart: Trash

    Collected every Friday morning. For non-recyclable and non-compostable items only.

  • Blue Cart: Recycling

    Collected every other Friday morning. For clean paper, cardboard, aluminum, metal cans, glass, and plastic containers #1-5 and #7.

  • Green Cart: Composting

    Collected every Friday morning. For food scraps, yard trimmings, food-soiled paper, and natural fibers.

  • Important Notes:
    • • Refuse bins are located on the west side of the house (left side when facing the front)
    • • Place carts at curb by 6:30 AM on Friday or the night before
    • • Keep 5 feet between carts and other objects
    • • Remove carts from curb by 10 PM on collection day

House Manual

Fire Pit

  • Located at the back center of the yard
  • Wood stored in rack at the right of the base of the steps from the back patio
  • Never leave fire unattended
  • Ensure fire is completely extinguished before leaving
  • Do not use during fire bans or high winds

Grill

  1. Gas grill connected to propane tank
  2. Open propane tank valve before use
  3. Turn knobs to "High" and light with the long lighter (located on the grill tray)
  4. Preheat for 10-15 minutes before cooking
  5. Clean grates after each use
  6. Turn all knobs to "Off" when finished
  7. Close propane tank valve after use

Outdoor Lighting

  • Porch String Lights:
    • • Plug into outlet immediately to the right of back door
  • Carport String Lights:
    • • Control switch located in box to the left of back door
  • Fence String Lights:
    • • Plug into outlet on left side of house from back door
  • Pole Lamps:
    • • Located in back yard
    • • Control switches located near back door inside house
  • Please unplug/turn off all lights when not in use

Garden

  • Automatic sprinkler system runs at 6:00 AM for 5 minutes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (no action needed)
  • Feel free to pick fresh herbs from garden boxes
  • Shed is locked and not accessible to guests
  • Please don't trim plants or trees
  • Note: Our landscaper may visit during your stay. Please let us know if this is a concern for you.

Kitchen Appliances

Water Cooler

  1. Has both hot and cold water dispensing options
  2. Replacement water jugs:
    • • Located outside the back door on the patio (left side)
    • • Warning: Jugs are heavy - may require two people to lift
  3. To replace empty jug:
    • • Wait until current jug is completely empty
    • • Remove lid completely from new jug
    • • Carefully lift and place new jug on top
    • • Clean up any spilled water immediately
  4. Important: Do not remove jug until completely empty to avoid spills

Coffee Maker (French Press)

  1. Coffee is located in the top wicker basket on the right of the kitchen counter nearest the stove
  2. Get hot water from water cooler dispenser
  3. Add coarse ground coffee (2 tbsp per cup)
  4. Pour hot water and stir gently
  5. Wait 4 minutes, then press plunger down slowly
  6. Pour and enjoy

Dishwasher (Samsung)

  1. Rinse dishes before loading
  2. Add detergent pod to dispenser door
  3. Close door firmly
  4. Press Power button, then Start
  5. Normal cycle takes about 2 hours

Oven & Stovetop (Samsung)

  1. For oven: Press Bake, set temperature, press Start
  2. For stovetop: Press and hold the knob on "Lite" until flame erupts, then twist to desired setting
  3. Timer function available on control panel
  4. Always turn off when finished

Refrigerator (Samsung)

  • Ice maker in freezer drawer
  • Please don't adjust temperature settings
  • Feel free to use condiments in door

Washer & Dryer (Samsung)

  1. Located in kitchen
  2. Press Power button to start
  3. Select desired cycle with dial
  4. Add detergent pod directly into wash basin with clothes
  5. Add bleach to marked bleach compartment if desired
  6. Clean dryer lint trap before each use
  7. Normal wash cycle: ~45 minutes
  8. Normal dry cycle: ~60 minutes

TV & Entertainment

Living Room TV

  1. Use Apple TV remote to turn TV on/off
  2. Use Bose remote to turn on soundbar (TV speakers will not produce sound)
  3. Use Apple TV remote to control volume and streaming
  4. Available apps: Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max, Amazon Prime
  5. Please use existing accounts (already logged in)

Vinyl Record Player

Please do not use the record player or handle any records in the cabinet. These items are not available for guest use.

JBL Flip 5 Speaker

  1. Located in cabinet to the left of TV console
  2. To connect:
    • • Press power button (speaker will make sound)
    • • Press Bluetooth button (blue light will flash)
    • • Select "JBL Flip 5" in your device's Bluetooth settings
  3. Please keep speaker on charger when not in use

Bedroom TVs

  1. Each bedroom has a smart TV
  2. Use remote on nightstand
  3. Same streaming apps available as living room

Nest Thermostat

  1. Located in hallway
  2. Turn outer ring to adjust temperature
  3. Press to access menu
  4. Recommended settings: 72°F cooling, 68°F heating
  5. Please turn to ECO mode when leaving for the day

  2. Dimmer controls available in:
